State Fashion Revue Committee - May
The 2012 State 4-H Fashion Revue will again be held at 4 p.m. on Labor Day at the Maryland State Fair. We are recruiting 4-H Youth, 4-H Volunteers and 4-H Faculty. If you are interested in serving on the 2012 Fashion Revue Committee please contact our Committee Chairs - Lacie Ashby, (lashby@umd.edu) Allegany County 4-H Educator and Shante Stokes (sstokes1@umd.edu) Prince Georges County 4-H Educator. Our meetings will be via conference call line and may be via CONNECT - if we want to share documents for all to see. We will want you to be available all day on Labor Day 2012 to help us on sight at the Maryland State Fair to finalize all details for our 2012 State Revue. We will schedule meetings at times that 4-H youth will be able to participate. So, if you have fashion interests - please volunteer!
State Communications Contest Results
Congratulations to all the 4-H youth who participated in the 2012 State 4-H Communications Contest during Maryland Day. All of the participants were local Champions, so special thanks to our judges who had a particularly difficult task selecting a Champion and Reserve Champion in each category for the Juniors / Intermediates / and Seniors.

Healthy Living 2012 Theme
Montgomery county has selected their 2012 Healthy Living Theme - "My Plate is a Healthy Plate." Our State Theme last year was "Let's Move" going along with Mrs. Obama's message. The MyPlate theme carries this message and moves us forward as we focus on the MyPlate website - http://www.choosemyplate.gov/ and promoting healthy choices. Use this theme "My Plate is a Healthy Plate" as you plan for the 2012 State Fair!

The President's Challenge is for one million Americans to complete the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA). 4-H is answering this call by setting a goal to have 100,000 4-H members and their families complete their PALA.
The Presidential Active Lifestyle Award recognizes those individuals who log their recommended physical activity for six weeks, five days a week (60 minutes for youth, 30 minutes minimum for adults).
Signing up for the 4-H group is simple. All you have to do is register. It's quick, and there's no cost to participate!
